Jessica Birthisel is a writer, mother, professor, crafter, baker and candlestick maker. Well, not that last part so much. But the rest is mostly true. Jessica earned her Ph.D. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the Indiana University School of Journalism and is now an assistant professor of communication studies at Bridgewater State University near Boston, where she teaches and researches in the areas of media, pop culture, gender studies, journalism and multimedia storytelling. Four boisterous little boys keep her and her husband busy, exhausted and laughing.
